About this site

Collectors of vintage space mission patches will often use the term "crew patch" to refer to a particular design of mission patch, usually a rare and highly sought after version. This site is intended as kind of a field guide to crew patches for the serious space patch collector.

In the Introduction section of the site I try to explain the criteria for defining a crew patch and hint at where you can find these patches and how much you can expect to pay for one. In the mission-specific pages of the site I try to identify the crew patch(es) for each of the Gemini and Apollo missions.

Please note that much useful information on this subject can be found in other resources including:

  • Russ Still's indispensable book "Relics of the Space Race"
  • Gene Dorr's excellent Space Mission Patch site
  • Jacques van Oene & Erik van der Hoorn's excellent SpacePatches site, which covers patches right up to the present day
